Report:

Merrimack Valley Camera Club’s (MVCC) Thirty-sixth (36th) George W. Glennie Memorial Nature Salon was conducted on March 12, 2016, at the Greater Lynn Photographic Association's club house. The judges for this year’s salon were Art Vaughan, Ed McGuirk, and Shawn Carey.  The judges had an abundance of quality nature images from which to select their award winners.  We had 798 images from 80 clubs from around the world and from 596 different photographers.  Submissions were received from seven countries and seventeen US states. Diversity Award

While “Fur & Feathers” are always strong contenders in a nature competition, the Glennie Salon has a long tradition of recognizing some of the other animal families, botany and landscapes. In that spirit the Diversity Award recognizes clubs based upon their top scoring images from six of the eight Glennie Categories.

List of Accepted Images

A brief word about “acceptances”.  All images submitted to the Glennie Nature Competition are judges and scored.  The award winning images as well as approximately 1/3 of the top scoring images are accepted into the Glennie Nature Salon.  This is a virtual salon which we present as a slide show that you can down load. And share with your club.  This year due to the distribution of scores, the acceptance level is a bit higher than normal as a result fewer images were accepted.

Also available is a down-loadable slide show of this year’s Glennie Nature Salon.  Set to music it includes all award winning images and acceptances.  This show is suitable for presentation to your club.   This is a PC executable version.  Mac users can run it using an emulator like parallels or bootcamp.
