"I joined the MVCC in 1972 (known then as the Lawrence Camera Club) when
we met in a cramped bank annex building in downtown Lawrence. I believe
an ad was posted then at Dick Chappel's Andover Photo store. I have
felt for years that the best meetings at the club are those that educate
and inspire....and that the examples on view today are the best ever. I
also feel that the finest and most lasting art since roughly 1920 is
photographic (and not what passes as 'fine art' in contemporary museums
among the art elites)."
