"My interest in photography was stimulated while traveling across Europe
while in the Army at which time I purchased my first camera - an Alpa Alnea
with a Schneider Xenon 1:1.9/50 lens. Over the course of the years I have
accumulated thousands of prints and slides of travel and family events with
Nikon cameras.
Over the course of my dental career I carried this interest in photography
taking intraoral and facial photographs for patient education and record
keeping. As a Past President of the Massachusetts Dental Society and
Clinical Instructor at Tufts Dental School and Northern Essex Community
College photography has played an integral part of my success. My first
attempt at close up (macro) pictures began with an Olden Ring Light and drop
in diopter lenses that attached to my Alpa camera. I then progressed to a
Panagor-Auto Macro and Ring Light.
A visit to view a Gallery of photographs at the Haverhill Historical Society
in 2007 introduced me to the MV Camera club. It has become a permanent part
of my retirement program. As most professionals will admit - we never stop
learning - and the camera club has provided an educational and social
environment that anyone can enjoy. Family and Travel has boosted my interest
in Nature, Landscape and human interest stories. Of course I now must turn
to digital rather than film and an upgrade to a newer Nikon SLR is in order." |
