A friend of mine, Betty Denise, who I often go out taking pictures with joined the club and said there was a good group of people so I decided to join. What I like best about the club is that there are people of all skill levels--from novice to professional photographers. It is really challenging when entering the competitions and keeps me always striving to do better. The members of the club are friendly and always willing to share their knowledge of photography with others.

Back in 1980 a college friend of mine who was majoring in photography bought me my first camera a Minolta XGM. Back then I was taking mostly black and white pictures and developing my own film. After several years, I moved on to color film pictures. Times have changed and about two years ago I got my first digital camera that I'm still using, a Cannon EOS 30D.
